The SHANNON MUIR’S INFINITE HOUSE OF BOOKS weekly column is a place at Shannon Muir’s author website open to interviews and guest posts from other authors. One thing Shannon firmly believes in for readers not only to learn about new books available, but about those who craft the tales behind them. As its name implies, SHANNON MUIR’S INFINITE HOUSE OF BOOKS weekly column features writers from all genres of fiction who want their potential audience to get to know them, and their works, better – and occasionally may offer features from Shannon herself that support readers to discover words.

DISCOVER WORDS… REFLECTIONS is a new monthly blog series, the first Wednesday of every month, that focuses on readers and the discovery of words. All blog posts written by Shannon Muir. This month shares her thoughts about the power of words and word choice.

Writers use words to convey images, thoughts, and ideas. Sometimes the words are simply just to entertain. At other times, it is to educate. Still other times, it may be to persuade someone to the writer’s way of thinking.

No matter the motivation, word choice is a powerful thing. While there are several words that can be used to describe something, there are often connotations that go with each that then affect the overall message being conveyed. So writers, choose your words carefully… and readers, be sure to take care to fully understand what writers mean in their word choices.

Until next month!
